Волею судьбы в игру включился старшеклассник Томохару Нацумэ, в итоге выбравший фракцию Темных, но заслуживший уважение и Светлых, и Серых, и демонов, и других участников Большой Игры.Цель Нацумэ проста – спасти свой мир и освободить из страшного плена Мисао, подругу детства и, как выяснилось, любимую. Жизнь показала, что многие игроки владеют отдельными ключами головоломки, но целиком решение известно лишь Наотаке – таинственному брату главного героя, действующему только из-за кулис.
